HOW CAN I GET A FREE HEART HEALTH CHECK?
Eligible HCF members* can access a free heart health check thanks to our partnership with the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.
At selected HCF Eyecare Centres and HCF Dental Centres you can get:
- a blood pressure, total cholesterol and blood sugar reading
- healthy heart advice from a Heart Health Check Specialist
- a heart health snapshot in under 10 minutes.
AM I ELIGIBLE FOR A HEART HEALTH CHECK?
You must be 18 years or over and have HCF hospital and extras cover. The following extras packages are excluded: My Future 750 Basic Plus Package, HCF Starter Extras, Future Care Basic Plus Package for Optical services and Overseas Visitors Health Cover.
WHY SHOULD I GET A HEART HEALTH CHECK?
54,000 Australians suffer a heart attack every year; that’s one every 10 minutes^. But heart disease can be prevented by understanding your risk factors and knowing the current state of your heart health.
By getting a Heart Health Check, you can get an insight into your blood pressure, total cholesterol and blood sugar levels. A Heart Health Check Specialist can advise you of any risks and whether you should consider making lifestyle changes.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
A Heart Health Check Specialist takes a small blood sample via a finger prick and provides your results on the spot. The whole process takes less than 10 minutes. You can also get advice on healthy heart habits to help you be your healthiest self.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Heart Health Check are free to eligible HCF members*.
WHAT PREVENTIVE CHECKS SHOULD I GET?
Booking preventive checks can help you monitor your health. Consider booking an eye test or a dental check-up alongside your Heart Health Check.
