Android users can access the digital membership card in the My Membership app. Make sure you have downloaded the most recent version of the HCF app to get started.
Open the HCF app and tap on the card icon at the top right corner of the screen.
Your digital card will appear on the screen and you’re ready to start claiming.

Claiming is fast and hassle-free with HCF’s digital membership card for Android users. Follow these steps to claim on your extras at eligible provider terminals*:
- open the My Membership app
- tap the card icon on the top right corner of the home screen
- hold your device near the terminal and wait for the beep
- your claim is processed on the spot and you’ll need to pay any difference that’s owing.

What can I do with my digital membership card?
Android users can use your digital membership card to make on the spot claims when you visit an extras provider using a HICAPS or CommBank Smart Health terminal. If you aren’t sure if your extras provider is using one of these terminals, check with them when you make your appointment. Remember, you can still swipe your physical card instead if you prefer.
Am I eligible to use a digital membership card?
To be eligible for a digital membership card you must be an HCF policyholder with a health policy, be up to date with your payments, and have an active physical membership card. To access your digital membership card you must be using an Android device with the HCF My Membership app installed. At the moment, digital membership is only available to the policyholder, but other members on the policy can continue to use their physical membership cards.
What device do I need to use a digital membership card?
To use your digital membership card you'll need an Android device running at least version 9. You’ll need to make sure you turn on near field communication (NFC) in your device settings and that you’ve downloaded the latest version of our My Membership app from the Google Play store to get started.
How do I get a digital membership card?
If you’re a policyholder and your payments are up to date, you’ll be able to start claiming with your digital membership card right away. You’ll need an Android device with the latest version of the My Membership app installed.
When you sign up for a new health policy with HCF you’ll need to download the HCF My Membership app from the Google Play store. Once you’ve done this, you should see your digital card in the app within 2 business days.
Where can I find my digital membership card?
The digital membership card is available in the My Membership app. Click on the card icon in the top right corner of the screen to access it and start claiming right away.
How do I know if my claim is approved?
Once you tap and claim, you’ll hear a beep and see a confirmation on your device that the tap has been successful. The provider will enter your claim details into the terminal, which will print out a receipt to let you know if your claim has been approved. You’ll then need to pay the provider any difference that’s owing.
Can I still use my physical membership card to claim?
Yes, you and the members on your cover can continue to use your physical membership card to claim as you normally would.
Can I use my digital membership card to claim at all providers?
You can only claim using your digital membership card if you’re visiting an extras provider with a HICAPS or CommBank Smart Health terminal. For other providers you can continue to use your physical membership card.
Is my digital membership card secure?
Security is important to us. Your digital membership card uses near field communication (NFC) when you tap and claim. This is the same secure technology you use when you tap your debit or credit card to pay in a store.
Does my digital membership card have an expiry date?
Your digital membership card will not expire, so you don’t have to worry.
Can I add my digital membership card to my digital wallet?
Your digital membership card is only available in the My Membership app. You can access it by clicking on the card icon on the top right corner of the screen in the app.
What should I do if my physical membership card is lost or stolen?
If your card is lost or stolen, contact our team as soon as you can on 13 13 34 so we can deactivate your membership card. Once we’ve cancelled your membership card you won’t be able to use your digital membership card until a new one is issued. Your digital card is automatically updated in the My Membership app within 2 business days. You'll receive your physical card within 10 business days.
What happens if I request a replacement for my damaged physical membership card?
When you request a replacement physical membership card, your digital membership card is automatically updated in the My Membership app.
Can I opt out of the digital membership card?
Your digital membership card is automatically made available in the My Membership app, but you don’t have to use it. You can continue to use your physical membership card as you normally would, and it won’t be impacted by the digital membership card.
Do I need to be connected to the internet to use my digital membership card?
Yes, you’ll need a stable internet connection to log in to the My Membership app and use your digital membership card.

I’m having trouble accessing or using my digital membership card
Try reinstalling the My Membership app as a first step. You’ll also need to be the HCF policyholder, be up to date with your payments, and have an active physical membership card. If you’re still experiencing issues, call us on 13 13 34 or email service@myhcf.com.au and we'll look into it.
