If you're an eligible HCF member*, you may be able to access the Detox and Recovery Support at Home program with no out-of-pocket costs for participation in the program – this excludes PBS co-payments for associated medications. To be eligible you must meet both the cover and clinical eligibility requirements.

If you don’t meet all of the eligibility criteria, you can still access the full program privately for $4,200 upfront#

Please note that all participants must complete a comprehensive clinical assessment before enrolment. Participation will only be offered where a Clean Slate clinician determines that the program is safe and appropriate based on your individual circumstances.

If you're ready to take the next step towards recovery, the Detox and Recovery Support at Home program could help. Designed to provide specialist support through telehealth, the program allows eligible HCF members to access treatment from the comfort and privacy of home.

To be considered, you'll need to:

  • be 18 years or older and living in Australia
  • have eligible HCF hospital cover that includes inpatient psychiatric services
  • be able to participate in telehealth appointments using a phone, tablet or computer with internet access
  • complete a clinical assessment and meet the program's clinical eligibility requirements*.

If you're not eligible for the Detox and Recovery Support at Home program, there are still a range of support options available.

Depending on your needs, Clean Slate clinic may be able to recommend alternative treatment services, health professionals or community-based support programs that are better suited to your circumstances. You can also speak with your GP, who can help you access appropriate alcohol and drug services, mental health support, or other healthcare providers.

If you need immediate assistance, support is available through services like Lifeline (13 11 14), Beyond Blue (1300 22 4636), or by calling 000 in an emergency.

Inpatient detox typically requires you to stay in a hospital or facility where you receive around-the-clock medical care and support. Whereas, at-home detox programs, like telehealth-supported treatment programs, allow eligible participants to receive care from the comfort of home while remaining connected to a clinical team.

The most appropriate option will depend on your individual circumstances, medical history and clinical needs. Costs can vary between providers and treatment types, and some services may be partially or fully covered by private health insurance. A clinical assessment can help determine the most suitable treatment pathway for you.

Check your suitability

Choosing the right treatment option depends on your individual needs, health circumstances and recovery goals. When exploring rehab or addiction treatment programs, look for providers that offer evidence-based care, qualified healthcare professionals, personalised treatment plans, and ongoing support during and after treatment.

It's also important to consider factors like:

  • the level of clinical oversight
  • whether treatment is delivered in-person or via telehealth
  • the program’s flexible
  • the types of substances or behaviours the program supports.

If you're unsure which option is right for you, speaking with a healthcare professional can help you understand your options and identify a treatment approach that best suits your needs.
